Spring family, bright and warm
Bright Spring color palette
High contrast, warm base, no apologies.
Bright spring sits where warm meets clear. The hair is dark enough to contrast with the skin, the eyes are vivid, and the skin has a warm base. This is the coloring that can wear a hot coral and a lime together without either one winning.
The palette is the most saturated of the springs. It still has a golden base, so the colors are bright rather than icy: sunflower rather than lemon, emerald rather than pine, hot coral rather than berry.

Colors to leave out
- Dusty Sage. The gray turns bright coloring flat and makes the face look tired.
- Mauve. Muted and cool, two things this palette cannot carry.
- Taupe. It disappears next to high-contrast features, so the outfit looks unfinished.
- Charcoal. Dark without warmth. Use ink or warm white as the neutral instead.
Wearing it
How the palette works on a body
The rules are about placement and quantity, not about permission.
Contrast is the point
Pair one bright color with warm white or ink. The gap between the two is what flatters this coloring; a mid-tone outfit without contrast is what makes it look washed out.
Wear the bright near the face
If you only own one piece in hot coral, make it a top, a scarf or a jacket. The same color in trousers does much less for the face.
Avoid grayed-out basics
A gray marl T-shirt and stone chinos will always look weaker on a bright spring than the same shapes in warm white and clear navy.
Skin and cheek
A coral or watermelon blush with a clear finish. Build it rather than blending it into nothing: this coloring can carry visible pigment.
Eyes and lips
Emerald, teal or warm bronze on the eyes, with a poppy or coral lip. Keep the two strong points in the same warm family.
Questions
Bright Spring questions
Is bright spring the same as clear spring?
The names are used interchangeably. Both describe warm coloring with high contrast and clear, saturated colors.
Can a bright spring wear black?
Better than most warm seasons, because the contrast suits the face. Warm white and ink are still softer and more flattering near the skin.
How much color is too much?
Two saturated colors in one outfit is plenty. A third turns the face into a background detail, which is the opposite of the goal.
Which prints work?
Large, clear motifs with warm white space. Small, dusty florals flatten the contrast this palette depends on.
