Free seasonal color analysis

Seasonal color analysis sorts people into twelve palettes. The idea is simple: colors that share the undertone and depth of your skin, hair and eyes tend to make the face look even, while colors that fight them make it look tired.

How it works

Personal color analysis from a photo

This tool samples three points on your photo (skin, eyes and hair) on your device, then asks seven questions that a photograph cannot answer, such as how your skin reacts to sun. The two readings are combined and matched to the nearest of the twelve seasons.

  1. 1

    Take a photo in daylight

No filter, no makeup if you can, and light on your face rather than behind you. A phone photo in front of a window is enough.

  2. 2

    Sample skin, eyes and hair

Tap a cheek, an iris and your hair. The tool averages the middle of each sample so a highlight or a shadow does not decide the color.

  3. 3

    Answer seven questions

Veins, metals, sun reaction, white versus cream, hair depth, eye color and contrast. The answers correct the photo when the light was not perfect.

  4. 4

    Read your season and palette

You get a season, the reasoning, a twelve color palette and the colors to leave out. The color report adds the full palette card as a PDF.

Questions

Color analysis FAQ

How accurate is a photo based color analysis?

It is a good starting point, not a professional draping. Phone cameras correct color automatically, which is why the quiz carries half the weight. If the result feels wrong, compare the palette with clothes you already know work.

Do I need makeup off?

Foundation and lipstick change the skin sample. If you wear makeup, sample a bare area such as the side of the neck, or take the photo before applying it.

What are the 12 seasons?

Three per family: light, true and bright for spring; light, cool and soft for summer; soft, warm and deep for autumn; deep, cool and bright for winter. Each has its own palette page on this site.

Can I do the quiz without a photo?

Yes. Skip the photo and answer the questions. The result will be less precise, because depth and contrast are easier to read from a sample than from an answer.
